Anesthesiology

Anesthesiology services are available 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week for all your surgery needs, whether planned or in case of an emergency. Anestheology is also available for all your birthing needs such as epidural anesthesia and IV pain therapy. 

Cardiology

Cardiac Rehab

Rehabilitation provides tools to stop smoking, creating a healthy diet, reducing stress, losing weight and improving cardiovascular fitness through extensive exercise programs. 

Cardiac Rehab also provides people with heart disease the ability to safely exercise while being monitored the entire time. This is a slowly progressing program. 

People will start the program at Phase II. This phase consist of 24 to 36 sessions during a two to three month period. During the exercise sessions the patient's heart is monitored. Patients will also receive counseling on risk factor modification. 

Phase III of the program is an optional intermediate maintenance program in which the patient is monitored on a weekly basis. This phase is for individuals who are not ready for the level of independence needed, or who are at high risk. Phase IV of the program is designed as a maintenance phase for individuals who are independent.

24-hour ED Service

The Emergency Department at City County Memorial Hospital is a vital part of the hospital.  The trained professionals that work in the ED are able to treat a wide variety of injuries and illnesses.

The ED at WC is open 24-hours a day and it is staffed with a physician continuously.  A Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, and Family Practice/OB doctor or OB/GYN are also always on call.  The ED also has access to a mental healthcare professional.

Gastroenterology

Dr.  Gastroenterologist, performs procedures such as colonoscopies, flexible sigmoids, stomach scopes and removal of stones in the common bile duct.  For more information or to schedule an appointment call 

General Surgery, Inpatient and Outpatient

General surgery is available for a variety of procedures including, but not limited to gynocology, appendectomies, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs and endoscopy. This highly trained medical staff performs inpatient and outpatient procedures and is available around the clock in case of emergency. 

Gynecology

Some of the gynecological procedures performed are hysterectomies, laparoscopies, cervical and vaginal biopsies, removal of Bartholin cysts, exploratory laparotomy, hysteroscopies and sterilization procedures.

To provide obstetric patients with quality care, City County Memorial Hospital offers The Apple Family Birthing Center complete with a large Labor/Delivery Suite, a Labor Room and Private Post-Partum rooms. C-Sections are also provided in our state-of-the-art Surgery Department

Patients receive individual care from our employees, who are devoted to enhancing family bonding.  WC provides prepared childbirth classes and sibling classes.  Patients also receive breast feeding instructions and support from our qualified OB staff.

WC has a Type 1 Nursery.  Should a newborn need more specialized care, they would be transported

Pathology

Behavioral Health

City County Memorial Hospital's Clinic is a short-term, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric unit.  Our inpatient unit has 13 beds and serves ages 14 and up.  Clinic treats a wide variety of diagnoses including inpatient detox.  Outpatient chemical dependency treatment and general mental health psychotherapy are also provided.

Clinic is certified by the state as an addiction treatment provider.  They offer an intensive adult and adolescent chemical dependency outpatient program.  

The Clinic' staff consists of a board certified psychiatrist, registered and licensed practical nurses, a licensed clinical social worker, a certified chemical dependency counselor, a therapeutic recreation assistant and nurses aides.

Medical Imaging

The Medical Imaging Department at City County Memorial Hospital is staffed 24-hours a day and it is fully equiped to handle almost any test that a physician may request.

With the new addition of a fixed MRI unit, patients now have added convenience of receiving almost all of their radiology test close to home.  Other Medical Imaging services include Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT Scan and Mammography.
